Yorgos Papafigos is an interdisciplinary artist from Greece. Conceptually he is interested in the moving and the static as a comment on the ephemeral, time and death. The static form plays an important role as it expresses simultaneously anticipation and anxiety about time and the tension between reality and the perception of virtual modern life. He also explores the increasing use of technologies and how these decompose and hybridize human nature. His passion for films and video games made him explore and experiment in-depth with the ways in which combine the natural world with the projection of digital content(image and sound). One of the most crucial aspects of his work is how immateriality affects our perception of the real world.
