Stanley Black

2019, Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL

Stanley Black is an artistic alter ego created by the artist Dan Mair. Stanley black describes himself as a political artist but in the left-leaning sphere of the art world culturally, he promotes the wrong type of politics. He is deeply opposed to political correctness which he sees as a direct assault on liberty and free thought and is interested in the role of the artist as a provocateur. His main area of research has centred around freedom of speech. He hopes his work challenges the audience's presuppositions and first principles in a humorous and disarming manner by questioning left-wing thinking and critiquing intersectional identity politics.
