"My practice is concerned with abstraction constructed by formal elements and the way in which relationships between these forms transpire. I am interested in the way in which formal qualities sit within a frame and how the utilisation of acrylic and oil paint creates various visual qualities which can be utilised to produce innumerable depth within a piece. I want to investigate the aesthetic possibilities my chosen mediums permit, alongside the potential of constructed shape, line, colour or composition, derived from subconscious memory, or which is obtained by manufacturing forms made with concern for the previous mark; my practice becomes reliant on the existing components as one mark impulsively motivates the next. Paintings therefore employ more unorthodox incentives and methods of application with a more conventional approach to produce a ground to paint on. "
