"My recent work is all come from mining memories, the imagery and symbols used in the images are all loaded with meaning while their new-found ambiguity through me having rendered them in paint leaves the viewer with a conundrum. On the surface, these paintings are optimistic, loud and full of joy. However, there is something stopping the viewer from entering. Their atmosphere while seductive is alien. The surfaces themselves speak of plasticity in the very materiality of the acrylic paint. The colours are a nod to pop yet there is nothing direct in their delivery instead the message comes through the realisation of their oblique nature. These infinite spaces are obstructed."
