"I make paintings and works on paper that explore a connection between landscape and memory. Although abstract the works contain floating forms that seem almost recognisable. The process of making the work involves a high degree of improvisation and deletion in a process I think of as being like mental excavation. The surprises and unexpected turns in the process are ultimately what I find most exciting about painting."
