Eva Junga

2018,  BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting, Wimbledon college of Art

The works are intentionally ambiguous, comic, and open-ended. Layered surfaces, repeated forms, three-dimensional and twodimensional elements are all characteristic components within Junga's practice. Her current works feature stitched canvas to refer both to everyday interior features and fundamental, drawn delineations of space that are derived from the language of distracted doodling. In rendering space, the seams that form the focus for works are intentionally ambiguous as to whether they represent interior or exterior spaces – ultimately, they refer to both. They hint at the possibility of transporting the viewer to generic and specific, domestic and public spaces.
