"The movement of the self as it fluctuates between an experience of separateness from or absorption in the world feels deeply connected to a sense of being. This primary experience of falling in and out of touch with the world is at the root of my practice. As touch becomes scarce and time more compressed, I anchor my work in the physical experience of making and bring to the fore a visceral alliance with material as a way of regaining these two elements."
